The Story of Salih AS

Assalamu 'Alaikum my dear brothers and sisters in Islam.

Today, I would like to share with you the story of a Prophet whom Allah SWT sent to guide his people to the straight path. His name was Prophet Salih AS, and his story is truly remarkable.

Prophet Salih AS was sent to the people of Thamud, who lived in a place called Al-Hijr, which is now known as Mada'in Saleh in Saudi Arabia. They were a prosperous people who had been blessed with many gifts from Allah SWT, including fertile land and abundant water. However, they had also become arrogant and had begun to worship idols instead of Allah SWT.

Prophet Salih AS was a wise and patient man, who preached the message of Tawheed (the oneness of Allah SWT) to his people. He reminded them of the many blessings that Allah SWT had bestowed upon them and urged them to abandon their idols and return to the worship of Allah SWT alone. He warned them of the consequences of their actions and told them that if they did not repent, Allah SWT would punish them severely.

Despite his warnings, the people of Thamud refused to listen to Prophet Salih AS. They mocked him and accused him of being a liar. They even demanded that he perform a miracle to prove his prophethood. Prophet Salih AS prayed to Allah SWT and a miracle was granted to him. Allah SWT caused a huge she-camel to emerge from a mountain, which became a sign of Allah's power and a test of the people's faith.

However, even this miracle did not convince the people of Thamud to believe in Prophet Salih AS. Instead, they killed the she-camel and continued to worship their idols. Allah SWT then sent a severe punishment upon them in the form of a powerful earthquake that destroyed their homes and left them dead in their tracks.

The story of Prophet Salih AS is a reminder of the importance of heeding the warnings of the Prophets and turning to Allah SWT in repentance. It also shows us the consequences of arrogance and disbelief, and the importance of having faith in Allah SWT and obeying His commands.

In conclusion, I would like to leave you with a verse from the Quran that reminds us of the message that Prophet Salih AS brought to his people: "And to Thamud We sent their brother Salih. He said, 'O my people, worship Allah; you have no deity other than Him. He has produced you from the earth and settled you in it, so ask forgiveness of Him and then repent to Him. Indeed, my Lord is near and responsive.'" (Quran 11:61)

May Allah SWT guide us all to the straight path and help us to follow in the footsteps of the Prophets. Ameen.
