The Story of Hud AS

Assalamu 'Alaikum dear brothers and sisters,

Today, I would like to talk to you about Prophet Hud (AS), one of the many prophets that Allah (SWT) sent to guide humanity towards the path of righteousness.

 Bismillah ar-Rahman ar-Rahim.

Prophet Hud (AS) was sent to the people of 'Ad, a powerful and prosperous nation who had become arrogant and disobedient towards Allah (SWT). Despite his efforts to guide them towards the right path, they refused to listen and continued to indulge in their sinful ways.

As mentioned in the Quran in Surah Hud, verses 50-60:

"And to 'Aad [We sent] their brother Hud. He said, "O my people, worship Allah; you have no deity other than Him. You are not but inventors [of falsehood]. O my people, I do not ask you for it any reward. My reward is only from the one who created me. Then will you not reason? And O my people, ask forgiveness of your Lord and then repent to Him. He will send [rain from] the sky upon you in showers and increase you in strength [added] to your strength. And do not turn away, [being] criminals."

Prophet Hud (AS) continued to warn his people about the consequences of their actions and urged them to seek forgiveness and turn towards Allah (SWT). However, his words fell on deaf ears, and the people of 'Ad continued to reject his message.

As a result of their disobedience, Allah (SWT) sent a severe punishment upon them. He sent a powerful and destructive wind that destroyed everything in its path, leaving the once-prosperous nation in ruins

As mentioned in the Quran in Surah Hud, verses 50-60:

"And when Our command came, We saved Hud and those who believed with him, by mercy from Us; and We saved them from a harsh punishment. And that was 'Ad, who rejected the signs of their Lord and disobeyed His messengers and followed the order of every obstinate tyrant. And they were [therefore] followed in this world with a curse and [as well] on the Day of Resurrection. Unquestionably, 'Ad denied their Lord; then away with 'Ad, the people of Hud."

Prophet Hud (AS) and his followers were the only ones to be saved from this destruction due to their faith and belief in Allah (SWT). This serves as a reminder that obedience to Allah (SWT) is the only way to avoid His punishment and attain His mercy and blessings

In conclusion, the story of Prophet Hud (AS) serves as a powerful reminder of the consequences of disobedience towards Allah (SWT) and the importance of faith and belief in His message. May Allah (SWT) guide us towards the right path and protect us from His punishment.

And Allah knows best.

Jazakumullah Khairan, wa 'Alaikumu Salam.
